Christopher Poe Wins Community Service Award from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation

"I Have A Dream" Foundation based in New York, NY will receive a $10,000 grant in honor of Northwestern Mutual wealth management advisor Christopher Poe's exceptional volunteer commitment as part of the company's 18th annual Community Service Award program. Poe is one of 25 Northwestern Mutual financial professionals being recognized this year as exceptional volunteers. Since the start of the Community Service Award program in 1995, the Northwestern Mutual Foundation has donated more than $3 million on behalf of its representatives to over 300 nonprofit organizations across the country.

 

Chris Poe is the chairman of the board and founder of the"I Have a Dream" Foundation of Charlottesville.  In 2000 Chris and his staff adopted 63 "dreamers" at Clark Elementary School with the promise of providing free in-state college tuition alongside a year around curriiculum of educational, social and cultural enrichment programs.  Our "dreamers" are seniors in high school now and college funding is secured.

Chris Poe is a CASA volunteer at Piedmont CASA  

The Haven - Chris is on the board of The Haven which is a local day shelter and transitional housing placement agency.   The Haven

Chris Poe is a current member and past president of the Central Virginia Estate Planning Council.
